Build A Windmill
Unable to afford school fees, William Kamkwamba, 14, dropped out of secondary school in Malawi and taught himself to make a windmill from scratch.
His invention generated more than just clean energy for his village (which never had power), but also lots of attention – from the media and the social sector.
Watch William’s remarkable story in this short documentary that premiered on Pangea Day.

Way to go William! Just 14 years old and an example to all of us. Examples such as this are going to convince people that we can all start using cleaner energy right away. We don’t have to wait for some amazing scientific breakthrough that will revolutionize all our power-plants. The technology that we need is already available (and has been for some time) and it’s easy enough to use (so easy that a 14 year old can figure it out).
So common people, let’s save the world!
