About Us

Global Youth Fund is a Vancouver-based charity that provides young people with training and support to become effective leaders in a pluralistic world.

Each year, we engage youth around the world in a democratic process to design and select their own campaign for global change.  We then support them in achieving the goals set out in the campaign.

Our innovative model of youth engagement is based on the philosophy of collective wisdom - the idea that groups of people - under the right circumstances - can make smarter decisions than the smartest individuals in the group.

Throughglobal dialogue and peer-to-peer learning, we help youth identify andimplement the best ideas for creating positive change.

We act in the belief that the best way to develop young leaders is to follow them.

Global Youth Fund was founded in 2005 by Charles Tsai and Amy Eldon with support from the Creative Visions Foundation.

Through global dialogue and peer-to-peer learning, we help youth identify and implement the best ideas for creating positive change.

Our three programs for youth are Changemakers, The Ideas Bank , and the This I Believe essay project. 

Changemakers

Changemakers

WorldGYF's core program, Changemakers helps today's youth (ages 13-25) become effective leaders in the 21st century.  Every year, participants form chapters at their schools and use GYF's democratic process to design and choose a campaign or project to support. 

Chapter leaders receive one-on-one mentoring from GYF and learn to lead by helping others lead.  Learn More.

Express Yourself!!

EssayWe invite youth (ages 13 to 25) to submit short essays on your personal philosophies and the core beliefs that guide you day-to-day.

Tell us about a meaningful experience from your life - a person or event that helped shape your beliefs and define who you are.
